Making a rare appearance at the Air Races, not as a static or heritage display, but as a contestant in the Air Races.

For aviation buffs, this rare FW190 was a real treat.

This P-40 was also a rare appearance and the Air Races. Usually P-40 aircraft will be done in the AVG Flying Tiger paint scheme, but this one is Parrot Head and competed as a race contestant.

Another rare aircraft is this P-51A, Polar Bear. Also a contestant in the Air Races.

F4U-4 Corsair, Race #24 also competed in the unlimited class. Corsairs look so cool rounding the pylons. I was too busy at the pylon so I did not get any pictures in flight. Sorry.

T-28 Trojan flew in the unlimited class and was the only single enging one with tricycle landing gear

P-51 Mustang Geraldine. Race number 15. This is a beautifully restored stock Mustang. The aluminum skins were highly polished.

Another pretty rare warbird is the Grumman F4F Wildcat. This aircraft, named Sea Biscuit, has been racing at Reno for many years.
